Challenging how cities are understood.

The Sandbox Collective is a Canadian research and advisory practice exploring the relationship between people and place, and how belonging, memory, family life and everyday experience can inform better city-building.

Meet the Founder

Jessica Myers, EcD works at the intersection of people and place, exploring what makes us connect to a city, build a life there and choose to stay.

Her work draws on more than a decade in economic development, neighbourhood revitalization, placemaking, communications and community engagement, working alongside municipalities, BIAs, developers and other city-builders across Ontario.

Through The Sandbox Collective, Jessica researches the less visible forces that shape our relationship with place: belonging, memory, family life, everyday experience and the ways cities support people through different stages of their lives. Her work brings these ideas into conversations about economic development, urbanism, design and the future of Canadian cities.
